Casella 91²Ö¿â Systems announced that the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation issued a permit to expand its Hakes Construction and Demolition (“C&Dâ€) Landfill located in Campbell, New York (“the Hakes Landfillâ€) disposal area by approximately 43.3 acres. The expansion provides an estimated 5.8 million cubic yards of additional disposal capacity.
The Hakes Landfill is currently permitted to accept up to 466,000 tons per year of C&D material. “We are pleased to receive this expansion permit at our Hakes facility,â€ said Ned Coletta, President and CEO of Casella 91²Ö¿â Systems, Inc. “Reliable C&D disposal capacity is a critical component of New York State’s solid waste infrastructure, and we take pride in providing service that we believe supports the opportunity for broader regional economic growth. This expansion positions us to serve that demand while preserving valuable capacity across our municipal solid waste landfill network.â€
“With this expansion combined with the current permitted airspace at the site, we expect to have approximately 20 years of capacity at current run-rates, Coletta said.
