Adams County residents are reminded that a convenient glass recycling opportunity is available. The drop-off site accepts glass bottles and jars only. Items such as auto glass, mirrors, ceramics, plate glass and china are not permitted and should not be brought to the site. Organizers emphasize that keeping non-accepted materials out of the bins helps ensure the glass recycling process remains safe and effective.
The Adams County Glass Recycling Drop-Off will be open Saturday, Jan. 3, from 9 a.m. to noon at Adams County Emergency Services, 230 Greenamyer Lane in Gettysburg. The program is hosted in partnership with Cumberland Township and provides a local option for recycling glass items that are not accepted in curbside programs.
The recycling center operates rain or shine and has been held on the first Saturday of each month since November 2023. The regular schedule is intended to give residents a dependable outlet to responsibly dispose of glass while reducing landfill waste.
