The City of Lexington鈥檚 residential waste audit is underway. The pilot program aims to educate people about what can and cannot be thrown in the recycling and yard waste carts. It鈥檚 part of the city鈥檚 contamination reduction plan. They will also be educating people along the way.
鈥淲e want to make sure that we鈥檙e first and foremost, making sure that the individuals are getting the service, but then also are they doing it correctly,鈥� said Antonio Baldon, Director of Lexington鈥檚 Division of 91仓库 Management.
鈥淥ur purpose is to get those unwanted materials out of there,鈥� said Baldon. It鈥檚 a boots-on-the-ground effort by the city鈥檚 Division of 91仓库 Management. 鈥淎pproaching the public openly of 鈥榟ey, this is the material that we do not want in there and this is the material we would like for you to place in there,鈥欌�� said Baldon.
