KEITH Manufacturing Co. highlights the KEITH Tarp Catcher™, the latest addition to the CleenSweep® tarp system for WALKING FLOOR® trailers and is designed to keep the tarp where it belongs, out of the load and under control. The KEITH Tarp Catcher™ holds the tarp in position during unloading, helping prevent it from dropping into the material stream or getting buried. This support strengthens the CleenSweep® system’s ability to sweep residual material out of the trailer during unloading and helps reduce time spent on clean-up. In a CleenSweep® installation, the tarp runs down the inside of the trailer with the load resting on top. As the WALKING FLOOR® system moves material toward the back, the tarp travels along the floor, pulling fines and leftover product with it, and once the trailer is unloaded, the operator retracts the tarp at the push of a button and is ready for the next job. Because cleanout performance depends on proper tarp control, the KEITH Tarp Catcher™ is designed to support the tarp outside the trailer at the end of the unloading process. Mounted as hooks at the rear of the trailer, it catches the tarp as it exits so it does not completely leave the trailer or become buried in the load, helping the cleanout cycle run more smoothly from one job to the next. The KEITH Tarp Catcher™ also strengthens the safety benefits of the CleenSweep® system by helping reduce the need for drivers and yard crews to enter the trailer for manual cleanout. When the tarp stays in place and does not get buried, operators can spend less time climbing into trailers, working on dusty floors or clearing leftover material before unloading, helping support a safer work environment and reducing the chance of injury-related downtime. For operations hauling grain, feed, compost, soil, manure and similar materials, leftover product in the trailer is more than an annoyance. It can slow loading, add extra clean-up time and raise cross-contamination concerns between jobs. Because the CleenSweep® tarp is designed to pull residual material out with the load, and the KEITH Tarp Catcher™ helps keep the tarp clear of the load during filling, the system supports more consistent cleanout from one job to the next. That can help drivers unload, retract the tarp and move on to the next task with less time spent sweeping floors or clearing hung-up fines. In busy yards and transfer sites, those time savings can add up across a fleet. The CleenSweep® system is powered off the same hydraulic supply as the KEITH WALKING FLOOR® drive and is engineered for a range of trailer configurations. For trailers that run on tipping platforms, KEITH also offers a lock kit to help secure the tarp during tipping. Together, CleenSweep® and the KEITH Tarp Catcher™ give haulers a practical way to automate one of the toughest parts of bulk transport, cleaning out the trailer between loads. By keeping the tarp out of the load, the system helps drivers stay safer, turn trucks around faster and keep trailers cleaner for the next job. These solutions also reflect KEITH Manufacturing Co.’s ongoing leadership in material handling innovation, providing fleets with reliable tools to improve safety, efficiency and trailer cleanliness across demanding bulk operations.
