TUF-STRAND NexSlab
from 91²Ö¿â Industry ProductsEuclid Chemical has launched TUF-STRAND NexSlab, a slab-on-ground design software platform that helps engineers evaluate and design fiber-reinforced concrete slabs using TUF-STRAND SF synthetic macrofibers. NexSlab advances Euclid Chemical’s technical design capabilities for fiber-reinforced slab-on-ground applications. Incorporating an updated TR34 based methodology, the platform assists engineers in evaluating TUF-STRAND SF solutions under a wide range of loading conditions, including rack posts, lift trucks, vehicles, uniform loads, and line loads.  The software analyzes multiple load configurations and locations throughout the slab to identify governing design conditions. It then generates an engineering report with detailed calculations, design results, and use factors to support slab design decisions. Euclid Chemical developed NexSlab entirely in-house, including the engineering calculations, design methodology implementation, programming, and software development. This approach provides Euclid Chemical with greater control over its technical capabilities and the flexibility to add design functionality and technologies in the future.  The launch is part of Euclid’s continued investment in engineering resources that help engineers, consultants, contractors, and other construction professionals evaluate fiber reinforcement as part of the overall slab design process. At the center of this is TUF-STRAND SF, a synthetic macrofiber offering three-dimensional reinforcement in concrete for applications ranging from industrial floors and warehouses to commercial slabs and other slab-on-ground construction.  Information about TUF-STRAND fiber technologies, NexSlab and related engineering resources, such as Euclid’s embodied carbon calculator, is available at www.tufstrand.com. Qualified engineers and other users can also request NexSlab credentials directly through the site. To access NexSlab and register for an account, visit slab.tufstrand.com. Euclid Chemical will also provide hands-on training and additional technical resources to help users become familiar with the platform, its design methodology and its application to slab-on-ground projects.  *Please note that NexSlab is an engineering support tool and does not replace project-specific design or the professional judgment of the Engineer of Record.
