SWANA announces The Battery Network as its newest corporate partner. The collaboration unites two organizations committed to safe battery collection and recovery while expanding access to education and practical resources for waste and resource management professionals.
Through the corporate partnership, The Battery Network will share its battery collection, safety, and compliance resources with the SWANA community, helping SWANA members strengthen local programs and educate the public about proper battery management.
Lithium-ion batteries power an increasing number of everyday products, but when they are placed in household trash or curbside recycling, they can become damaged or crushed and ignite. These preventable fires endanger workers and communities, disrupt operations, and create significant damage and costs for local governments and service providers. Safe, convenient collection programs are essential to keeping batteries out of the waste stream and directing them to appropriate recovery pathways.

Its nationwide system connects consumers, businesses, manufacturers, retailers, and municipalities through education, convenient collection sites, compliant logistics, and material recovery.
