The Washington State Recycling Association (WSRA) , a nonprofit organization representing the state鈥檚 diverse recycling industry, presents their first Washington Recycles Every Day (WRED) event of 2016, 鈥淭he Big Stuff – Carpet & Mattress Recycling鈥�. This educational workshop will take place on Thursday, March 24 from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM at Murrey鈥檚 Disposal in Fife, with coffee and networking starting at 8:30 AM.
Participants will get an in-depth look at the recycling of carpet and mattresses. Presenters will share the background and evolution of recycling these difficult to recycle materials on a local and national level. In addition, our tour hosts will focus on their experiences setting up and operating recycling facilities for these large items. The event will include behind-the-scenes tours of Spring Back Mattress Recycling NW and Carpet Processing & Recycling LLC.
This event is open to the public and includes lunch, topic discussions and networking opportunities with leaders in Washington鈥檚 recycling industry. Young environmental professionals are highly encouraged to attend. Registration costs are as follows: WSRA members $65, Non-members $85, students with a valid student ID $35.
