A major investment in North Texas infrastructure is now up and running in Frisco. Circular Services officially opened a 120,000-square-foot materials recovery facility (MRF) designed to process recyclables for communities across the Dallas-Fort Worth area, including McKinney and Frisco. The $61 million project represents one of the region’s largest recent investments in recycling infrastructure.
The facility began operations this month following a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by local officials and community partners. The new center is designed to handle single-stream recycling, meaning residents and businesses can place all recyclables into one collection system before materials are sorted at the facility.
Using advanced technology, including optical sorters and a specialized glass cleanup system, the plant is built to maximize recovery rates and reduce the amount of waste sent to landfills. Materials processed at the site are intended to be redirected into domestic markets, keeping resources in circulation.
