ÌýCircular Action Alliance (CAA) announced the inaugural CAA EPR Forum, a new event taking place Sept. 29–30, 2027, at the Baird Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The forum will begin with joint main stage programming shared with SPC Advance 2027, then continue as an independent event focused on practical EPR implementation, emerging insights and opportunities to build stronger, more cost-efficient paper and packaging recycling systems.Ìý
Since 2014, SPC Advance has brought together leaders from across the packaging value chain to address sustainability challenges and share knowledge. The joint main stage programming will build on that foundation before the CAA EPR Forum moves into dedicated programming focused on the practical work of implementing paper and packaging EPR programs. The forum will convene producers, recyclers, municipalities, policymakers, service providers and other interest holders to explore material-specific strategies and opportunities to strengthen recycling outcomes and drive system efficiencies.Ìý
“As packaging EPR programs move from policy to implementation, success depends on engagement across every part of the system,â€ said Jeff Fielkow, chief executive officer of Circular Action Alliance. “The CAA EPR Forum will create a dedicated space to advance practical solutions and strengthen system performance, building on SPC Advance’s strong history of bringing packaging leaders together.â€Ìý
The forum will give attendees an opportunity to engage directly with CAA and hear from its national, state and technical experts. Drawing on emerging implementation experience, programming will explore material and market challenges, infrastructure needs and opportunities for greater alignment across programs. Sessions will explore how practical actions and effective use of producer funding can strengthen recycling systems over time. Topics will include education and outreach, data and reporting, infrastructure planning and the responsible management of covered materials.Ìý
