The Oswego County Solid 91²Ö¿â Department announces the Hastings Transfer Station will partially re-open on Tuesday, June 23. âThe Hastings transfer station has been fully closed since May 11 to make repairs to the trash compactor in its main building and provide maintenance on the recycling compactor,â said Mike Lutestanski, director of Oswego County Solid 91²Ö¿â. âUnfortunately, we experienced a fire on site just days later, so itâs taking a little longer to get everything fully up and running.
âFor now, our recycling compactor has been repaired and weâll go back to processing recyclable materials and trash through the recycling building until we can get the garbage compactor replaced and operational again,â he added.
Once open, the Hastings Transfer Station will resume its weekly schedule of being open Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Weekday hours are 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday hours are 8 a.m. to noon.
The Pulaski Transfer Station and Bristol Hill Landfill, which had been open extra days due to the Hastings station closure, will return to their regular schedules.
The Pulaski station will be open Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
The Bristol Hill Landfill will return to its regular schedule of Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
Transfer stations with weigh scales will continue to close their scales a half-hour before the station closes, which is 3:30 p.m. on weekdays and at 11:30 a.m. on Saturdays.
