The Plastics Industry Association (PLASTICS) and the American Chemistry Council (ACC) are hosting their joint Legislative Fly-In in Washington, D.C., bringing together leaders from across the plastics value chain to engage directly with federal policymakers.
The Legislative Fly-In, taking place April 13 – 15, focuses on reinforcing the plastics industry’s role in U.S. manufacturing leadership, advancing fair and predictable trade policy, and accelerating recycling and circular manufacturing.
During meetings with lawmakers and Administration officials, participants will advocate for policies that strengthen U.S. manufacturing capacity, provide certainty in global trade, and advance recycling through clear national definitions and streamlined permitting pathways that support infrastructure investment.
“The U.S. plastics industry is foundational to our nation’s manufacturing base, supporting more than one million jobs as the eighth-largest manufacturing sector,” said Matt Seaholm, PLASTICS President & CEO. “It’s important that policymakers hear directly from the manufacturers, recyclers, and suppliers driving job creation and investment in communities across the country about what it takes to strengthen domestic production, expand recycling systems, and compete globally.”
“America’s plastic makers are helping power U.S. manufacturing, strengthen supply chains, and expand the technologies needed to recycle more plastics,” said Ross Eisenberg, president of America’s Plastic Makers. “We look forward to sharing practical solutions with policymakers that would support domestic plastics production, modernize recycling infrastructure, and create the policy certainty needed to drive continued investment in American jobs and manufacturing.”
