As compared to drugs, gun violence, or organized gang wars, texting and driving may not seem that serious, but you will have to change your mind when you read some specific statistics related to distracted driving. It is actually quite sad to see that most people are still not that concerned about distracted driving, and that is the reason why the problem has already escalated to a very dangerous level. The concerned authorities have certainly introduced specific laws to prevent and penalize the drivers involved in texting and driving, but an astonishingly high percentage of drivers blatantly ignore those rules.
Distracted driving can be the result of answering phone call while driving, talking with a passenger, adjusting the sound system, or of course, sending text messages while driving, which is probably the riskiest thing to do because it is occupying, manually, physically, and mentally.
