The city of Toledo is opening a new, self-service recycling center that allows residents to drop off waste and recyclables year-round. The Clean Toledo Recycling Center opens on June 2, and will operate Tuesday through Saturday.
The center accepts donations of gently used items in good condition, electronics, scrap metal, appliances without refrigerant, food waste, recyclables and yard waste. Grass clippings are not accepted.
The new facility builds on Toledo’s existing Clean Toledo initiative, offering an alternative to the seasonal Clean Toledo Free Refuse and Recycling Drop-Off events. The permanent location provides residents with a consistent option, rather than temporary collection days, and is described by the city as a “faster, more efficient experience.”
