The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) has awarded $500,000 in Community Recycling Grant Program funds to 12 applicants, supporting local recycling initiatives across the state. Gov. Mike Braun emphasized the importance of these grants, stating they “support practical, locally driven solutions that help reduce waste, lower costs, and build sustainable systems that last.”
The grants are available to various Indiana entities, including counties, municipalities, and schools, aiming to create cost-effective, environmentally impactful recycling programs. IDEM Commissioner Clint Woods highlighted these programs as beneficial for both the environment and cost savings.
Recipients include the City of Columbus with $100,000, the Civil City of Auburn also receiving $100,000, and Indianapolis Airport Authority with $50,769, among others.
