Mesa County Commissioners approved a one-year contract extension with Onsite Electronics Recycling LLC, doing business as IT Refresh, to continue electronic waste recycling services at Mesa County’s Hazardous 91²Ö¿â Collection Facility in 2026. Electronic waste contains heavy metals and other hazardous materials that can contaminate soil and groundwater if improperly disposed of. Colorado banned electronic waste from landfills in 2013, making certified recycling services essential for local governments and residents.

Mesa County’s Hazardous 91²Ö¿â Collection Facility receives more than 240,000 pounds of electronic waste each year from residents and businesses. County staff said continued access to a qualified, certified recycler is critical to meeting state requirements while protecting public health and the environment.

IT Refresh has provided electronic waste recycling services to Mesa County since 2015 and has operated in Colorado since 2013. The company holds multiple industry certifications that verify responsible recycling practices and secure data destruction for personal electronic devices. Commissioners unanimously approved the contract extension, citing the importance of safe, reliable electronic waste recycling for residents and businesses countywide.
