NewTerra Compost, a food scrap recycling company based in Chattanooga, has merged with Phoenix Glass Recycling, a Huntsville-based glass recovery and reuse company. This partnership expands recycling and composting services across Madison County, AL. The merged companies will operate under the name NewTerra Compost.
The combined operation will offer residents and businesses a more complete and convenient way to reduce landfill waste, including services that have not been available locally in recent years. “This merger allows us to continue our work as the only local option for recycling glass while offering more to our customers,” said Moriah Fordham, Founder of Phoenix Glass and now General Manager of Alabama Operations with NewTerra Compost. “Together, we’re making it easier for households and organizations to take action toward a zero-waste future.”
The expanded services include residential curbside pickup for compostable materials and glass containers as well as pickup at businesses and institutions. The local processing of the compost ensures food wastes are repurposed within the community.
