Momentum Recycling, Spoil to Soil and Park City Community Foundation announced a partnership deal that they say will increase the adoption of curbside food composting locally. The foundation helped broker and finance the deal between the two providers that serve Wasatch Back customers with food waste pickup.
Momentum Recycling is acquiring Spoil to Soil’s current customers and will pick up all food waste from residential and business customers across the Wasatch Back, while Spoil to Soil will focus on processing the compost on its local property in Brown’s Canyon.
“As part of our Zero Food 91ֿ initiative, this collaboration takes advantage of the strengths of each of the partners,” said Andy Hecht, Park City Community Foundation’s climate fund manager. “Spoil to Soil has been a local leader in composting organic waste at scale. Momentum Recycling has the infrastructure and customer service to pick up and haul organic waste across the Wasatch Back. Working together, we are helping to put in place an efficient system that can handle our community’s food waste needs.”
