The Town of Smithtown Department of Environment and Waterways, in coordination with the Municipal Services Facility, hosted another successful Household Hazardous 91²Ö¿â Collection Event on July 11, serving 581 Smithtown households. The event represented a substantial increase from the 420 households that participated during the Summer 2025 collection.
Residents safely disposed of 19,320 pounds (6.66 tons) of hazardous household materials that cannot be placed in regular curbside trash, helping to protect Smithtownâs drinking water, parks, waterways, and the environment.
