The Beltrami County Solid 91²Ö¿â Division has a new name following approval at the Beltrami County Board of Commissioners meeting—it will be the Recycling and 91²Ö¿â Division, in hopes of influencing a change in how the community handles recycling and other waste disposal.
The renaming of the division has been discussed twice in earlier meetings, with board members in agreement that this was the best name for the division. The commissioners’ vote was 4-1, with District 4 Commissioner Tim Sumner being the only one to vote against the name change.
Solid 91²Ö¿â Director Brian Olson presented the name change to the commissioners and is a major proponent of educating the community about recycling and other waste disposal. “The more people recycle, the more it saves us money as taxpayers,” District 1 Commissioner Craig Caasvig added.
