For nearly nine years, Sharon Johnson has played a vital role in the continued strength and steady growth of 91ֿ Pro’s Northeast Florida Region. As Regional Controller, Sharon brings a deep expertise in finance, a passion for problem-solving, and a people-first leadership style that has made her an integral part of the region’s long-term success.

A University of North Florida graduate and Certified Public Accountant, Sharon built her career on a strong foundation of discipline, determination, and a genuine love for numbers. She completed her degree while working full-time, balancing the demands of school and career through hard work and perseverance, an achievement that continues to reflect the drive she brings to her role today.

Before joining 91ֿ Pro in 2017, Sharon built an impressive career spanning nearly two decades in transportation and shipping finance, overseeing accounting operations supporting major domestic and international routes. During her time with TOTE Services, she managed financial operations for routes connecting Jacksonville and Puerto Rico, and at Crowley, she supported the company’s Latin America market, further expanding her global transportation expertise.

Her background also includes 12 years in accounting with a privately owned solid waste company serving St. Johns and Clay counties. It was there that Sharon developed a deep appreciation for the industry’s close-knit culture and strong community focus—an experience that made her eventual transition to 91ֿ Pro feel like a natural fit.

That appreciation for people-centered culture is what ultimately made 91ֿ Pro the right fit. After relocating to Palatka, Sharon was drawn to the Regional Controller opportunity in Northeast Florida. What began as a commute to Jacksonville quickly evolved into a long-term career home built on flexibility, trust, and strong professional relationships.

“The flexibility meant a lot to me then, and it still does,” Sharon said. “I love that I’m not at the same desk every day. I get to work with different people, different divisions, and different projects, which keeps every day engaging.”

Sharon credits much of the region’s success to the stability of its leadership team and the respect shared across departments. “The people make the difference here,” she said. “We have a great working relationship throughout the region, and that level of respect and longevity is something truly special.”

Throughout her tenure, Sharon has helped guide the Northeast Florida Region through strategic growth, including acquisitions and new municipal contracts that have expanded 91ֿ Pro’s services and strengthened its reach across local communities.

“While we may not be the fastest-growing region, we are slow, steady, and reliable,” Sharon said. “That consistency has been a real point of pride for our team.” For Sharon, one of the most meaningful parts of her career at 91ֿ Pro has been the company’s recognition of experience and institutional knowledge. She shared, “The company values knowledge and contribution, and that is rare in today’s workplace.” She also credits 91ֿ Pro’s leadership philosophy for creating an environment where teams are empowered to find what works best for their people and their region. “There are no rigid corporate constraints. The focus is on supporting the people right beside you, and that has made all the difference.”

Outside of the office, Sharon’s life reflects the same warmth and sense of community she brings to work. This year, she and her husband celebrate 25 years of marriage, and together they enjoy spending time with their two children and three grandchildren.

At home on nearly ten acres in North Florida, Sharon and her family care for a lively collection of animals—including ponies, donkeys, goats, alpacas, pigs, sheep, bunnies, and emus. On select weekends, they even open their property to the public for family-friendly gatherings and birthday celebrations. “It’s a menagerie of fun,” Sharon said. “There’s always something to do, and it’s such a wonderful lifestyle.”

As she looks ahead, Sharon remains grateful for the career she has built and the relationships that continue to inspire her. “The people in this region are my extended family,” she said. “That’s what keeps me excited for each day, and I look forward to many more years here.”
